RottenTomatoes.com is a movie review aggregation site that gathers the reviews from critics around the world. The website calculates in the percentage of reviews that say a movie is "Fresh" -- or worth seeing. Each movie is given a percentage rating on the Rotten Tomatoes' "Tomatometer." RottenTomatoes.com is now a subsidiary of News Corp's Fox Interactive Media.

Rotten Tomatoes offers snippets of film reviews from movie critics. The site also offers links to full-length reviews by these critics. Typically, reviews for new movies begin coming out within days of the film's release.

In 1998, Senh Duong founded Rotten Tomatoes when he realized that there was no tool to collect all the reviews of a single movie. In 2004, Rotten Tomatoes was acquired by IGN, who were themselves acquired by Fox Interactive Media in 2005.

Rotten Tomatoes encourages community participation by including blogging functionality, commenting on their feature articles and allowing users to rate and review movies themselves. However, the majority of users on the site are not members. The site is well trafficked, with a rank of 814 over the entire internet according to Alexa.com.
