The Roomba is marketed as a "robotic floorvac" that navigates the geography of your home while vacuuming.
The Roomba robot vacuum is a 13.4 inch disc with a height of under 3.6 inches. There is an infrared sensor on the unit which enables it to navigate around the area. iRobot has created three generations of the Roomba units.
The Roomba runs on batteries that need to be recharged. However, newer generation models have a homebase charger that they automatically locate and dock with. Early models featured three buttons to indicate the size of the room being cleaned. Second and third-generation models do not require being told the size of a room. All Roombas manufactures after October 2005 can be programmed with specific behaviors.
