    Ronald Regan began his career as an actor but soon found his way into politics. He was elected the 33rd Governor of California and then the 40th President of the United States.

    During his two terms as president he implemented his "Reaganomics" economic policy, survived an assassination attempt, ordered the invasion of Grenada, and was involved with the Iran-Contra Affair and the Cold War, which ended at the end of his second term.

    Reagan's administration was his implemented what was colloquially termed as "Reaganomics", which was an economic policy designed to deal with the levels of high unemployment and high inflation that were present in the country at the time through reduced taxation and regulation.

    Strong defense spending was also central to the Reagan administration, contributing eventually to the immense financial burdens on the Soviet Union, which ultimately led to the fall of the Soviet Union.
