    Professional hockey defenseman Ron Hainsey most recently played in the National Hockey League for the Columbus Blue Jackets. His contract with the Blue Jackets expired at the conclusion of the 2007-08 season.

  • NHL Career

    Hainsey was drafted 13th overall in the 2000 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He played for the Canadiens' American Hockey League affiliate, the Quebec Citadelles, before making his NHL debut with the Canadiens in 2002. Hainsley spent much of his time from 2002 to 2005 in the minors, playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL. He was waived by the Canadiens and picked up by the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 29, 2005. Hainsley earned a full roster spot with the Blue Jackets and signed a two-year contract on July 11, 2006.
