Ron Gardenhire is the manager of the Minnesota Twins. Gardenhire spent his playing days with the New York Mets organization, and replaced Tom Kelly as the Twins manager in 2002. Gardenhire reached the playoffs in four of his first five seasons with the Twins.
Playing Career
The New York Mets selected Gardenhire out of the University of Texas in the sixth round of the 1979 draft. After making his MLB debut in 1981, Gardenhire went on to play 5 seasons as a Mets Shortstop.
