On January 16, 2008, the legendary Rock band, The Rolling Stones left their label, EMI / Virgin Records and signed a deal with the Universal Music Group (UMG). The deal is just for the distribution of the band's next album, which will be the soundtrack to their 2008 concert film Shine a Light directed by Martin Scorsese.
The Rolling Stones left EMI just months before their contract was due to expire.
