Roger Wicker is the junior Republican U.S. Senator from Mississippi. Wicker filled the Senate seat vacated by retiring Senator Trent Lott in 2007 after being appointed to the position by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour. In the 2008 election, Wicker retained his senate seat, which was challenged by Democratic candidate Ronnie Musgrove. According to CNN, he won by a 10% margin.CNN: Mississippi Election Results
