Distancing from Clemens
On November 26, 2008, the New York Daily News reported that a charity golf tournament that Clemens was involved with has agreed to sever ties with the troubled pitcher. Clemens had reportedly raised millions of dollars for the charity in the past. The reason for the agreement was that Clemens is involved in several legal issues as a result of the Mitchell Report. The report claimed that Clemens used performance enhancing drugs during his career.
