Rod Lurie is a writer, director, television producer and filmmaker. He has directed such films as Deterrence with Kevin Pollak, the Academy Award nominated film The Contender with Joan Allen, The Last Castle starring Robert Redford and Resurrecting the Champ featuring Samuel L. Jackson.
In 2008, Lurie wrote and directed the film Nothing But the Truth starring Kate Beckinsale and Vera Farmiga.
Early Career
Lurie started his career in the industry as an entertainment reporter for New York Daily News, Entertainment Weekly, Premiere Magazine and Movieline.

Television Career
After establishing himself as an award winning film director and writer, Lurie branched out to television. He was the creator and executive producer of the television drama Commander in Chief. The series starred Geena Davis as the first woman President of the United States.
