Rod Brind'Amour is an all-star forward for the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League. In 2007, he won his second consecutive Frank Selke Trophy as the league's best defensive forward.
NHL Career
Prior to playing in the National Hockey League, Brind'Amour attended and played for Michigan State University. He was then drafted ninth overall in the 1998 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues. Brind'Amour made his NHL debut in 1989, playing five playoff games with the Blues. After two additional seasons in St. Louis, he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers on September 22, 1991. Brind'Amour stayed with the Flyers for just over eight seasons, then was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on January 23, 2000. He was named captain of the Hurricanes in 2005, helping the team win the Stanley Cup Championship the following year.
