• The Rockefeller center is a building complex comprised of 19 commercial buildings covering an area of 222 acres between 48th and 51st streets in New York City. The center was developed by the John D. Rockefeller from 1930. He originally planned to build an opera house on the site but changed his mind after the 1929 stock market crash. It was the largest private building project to be undertaken in modern times.
