Rumors of a Roy Orbison DLC pack began when an observant music fan noticed a pop-up ad while watching VH1 Classic. Sean Baptiste, Manager of Community Development at Harmonix, the game's developer, stated that the advertisements came as a surprise even to him. "I think it was coming next week... At any rate, I am very pleased to announce that this is true." Rock Band adds new songs for download on a weekly basis. Some of the artists featured so far include The Who, Nirvana, Metallica and Boston. Usually, individual songs can be purchased for $1.99 or the entire artist song list can be purchased for a bundle price. Select songs have also been made available for free.
