• Rock Band is a musical video game developed by Harmonix for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii gaming consoles. The game features special instruments including guitar-shaped controllers, drums and a microphone. Users play songs using the controllers and attempt to hit notes as they scroll across the screen. The game is often compared to Guitar Hero, which has a similar guitar controller and player interface.

• Downloadable Content

  One of the most well-liked features of Rock Band is the large amount of downloadable content. Each week new songs are released for download; these songs can be purchased within the game, and are added to the set list immediately upon download. Harmonix also offers entire albums that can be purchased as bundles that cost less than the individual downloads. The first such album to be released was the Judas Priest album Screaming for Vengeance.
