  • Robyn Regehr is a professional hockey player, currently playing for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.

    Regehr was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche during the first round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, but was traded to the Calgary Flames shortly afterward. After receiving a silver medal with Team Canada at the 1999 World Junior Championships and shortly before his scheduled NHL debut, Regehr was involved in a serious car accident which killed two passengers and left him with two fractured legs. Regehr made a full recovery to join the Flames for 52 games during the 1999-2000 season.

    Regehr has remained an integral part of the Calgary Flames defense since joining the team and is one of their four alternating assistant captains. During the 2007 off-season, the Flames signed Regehr to a five-year $20 million contract extension.

    Regehr represented Canada at 2000 and 2005 World Championships and was a member of Canada's gold medal winning 2004 World Cup of Hockey team. He competed with Team Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
