Robert Wexler is a Democratic congressman from Florida. Since 1997 he has served in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving Florida's 19th district.
On May 31, 2008, Wexler spoke on behalf of Barack Obama at the DNC Special Meeting to decide the Florida Michigan Delegates Controversy. An early supporter of Obama, Wexler discussed his excitement that the Illinois senator was joining the presidential race as early as March 2007.

Calls for Impeachment
In November 2007, Wexler began calling for hearings on the impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney. After the publication of What Happened, Wexler stated that he would like Scott McClellan to testify against the Bush administration at potential impeachment hearings.On The Colbert Report
Wexler ran uncontested in his campaign for reelection in 2006. When a guest on The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert reminded Wexler that there was no way he could lose the election, and thus encouraged him to say things that would normally be detrimental to his campaign.
