Robert Smigel is a writer, comedian and cartoonist known for his contributions to late night television. Smigel was a longtime writer Saturday Night Live and contributed the cartoon shorts The Ambiguously Gay Duo, The X-Presidents and Fun with RealAudio to the show. He was also the writer of the famous Wililam Shatner "get a life" sketch.
Smigel created the short-lived Comedy Central animated program TV Funhouse, but he is arguably most famous for his foul-mouthed creation Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, a recurring puppet character on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
