Robert Kirkman is a comic book artist and writer. Kirkman's best-selling comics include the Image Comics' series Invincible and Marvel Comics' Marvel Zombies, which was inspired by the zombie films of director George Romero.
Invincible, which follows the story of the adolescent son of the world's most powerful super hero developing his own powers, has been optioned for the screen by Paramount Pictures. Kirkman has been brought on board to write the screenplay.
Kirkman's other notable works include his earliest series Battle Pope and The Astounding Wolf-Man, the first issue of which was given away for free as part of Free Comic Book Day, an annual event which introduces new readers to comics by giving them away for free.
Kirkman is rumored to be at work on two new projects—a revamp of Killraven for Marvel Comics and a project entitled Haunt for Image.
