  • The Case

According to reports, an IT person for the MRDD first noticed suspicious activity on some of the departments' computers in July 2008. MRDD Assistant Superintendent Jennifer Rousculp said "an individual was accessing sites that were not appropriate and were not related to his job description." An internal investigation was launched, and Gebhart resigned from his job less than two weeks later. Gebhart was arrested just over four months later. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation took over the case, and a computer forensics report later showed "no active pornography search terms." Prosecutors said they could not prove Gebhart was accessing child pornography on the job and the criminal case was dropped in May 2009.Springfield News-Sun: Child porn charges dropped against former MRDD worker Dayton Daily News: Spike in Web usage led to man's arrest over child porn
