Robert Elswit is an American cinematographer.
Career
After graduating from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts in 1975, Elswit worked on the visual effects team for the Star Wars films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
With Sydney in 1996, Elswit started a collaborative partnership with director Paul Thomas Anderson that continues to this day. Other Anderson films Elswit has shot include Boogie Nights, Magnolia and Punch-Drunk Love.
Elswit has also collaborated with actor-director George Clooney on Good Night and Good Luck in 2005. Elswit's use of black and white photography in the film earned him numerous award nominations.IMDb: Robert Elswit Awards
In 2008, Elswit won the "Best Achievement in Cinematography" Oscar for his work on Anderson's There Will Be Blood.
