Robert David Paulison is the current administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He was appointed by President Bush in September 2005 after Michael D. Brown resigned after Hurricane Katrina.
Career
Paulison began his career as a member of the North Miami Beach Fire Department in 1971. He eventually worked his way up the ranks to become Fire Chief in Miami-Dade, Florida. As Fire Chief he was in charge of the Miami-Dade Urban Search and Rescue Task Force. In 2005, following the Hurricane Katrina disaster, he was appointed Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
