Robert Chambers was convicted of manslaughter in the death of 18-year-old Jennifer Levin in New York's Central Park on August 26, 1986. Chambers served almost all of his 15-year jail sentence before being released in 2003.

2007 Drug Bust
On October 22, 2007, Chambers was arrested in his apartment and charged with selling drugs and resisting arrest. His girlfriend, Shawn Kovell, was also arrested. Chambers went to court on December 18, 2007. His lawyer filed papers that stated Chambers had been using 10 to 12 bags of heroin each day, using cocaine, smoking marijuana and taking prescription drugs.
