Robb Quinlan

  • Major League Baseball utility player Robb Quinlan currently plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

    Quinlan was originally drafted on June 1, 1995 by the then named California Angels, but did not sign, choosing to attend college instead. Quinlan played baseball for the University of Minnesota. In 1997, he was selected Big Ten Conference All-Star.

    On June 2, 1999, Quinlan was drafted again, this time signing with the Angels, immediately joining their minor league affiliate.

    Quinlan was called up to make his MLB debut with the Angels on July 28, 2003. He played 38 games that season, hitting 13 runs and finishing with a .287 batting average. He returned to the Angels lineup for 56 games in 2004, including a 21 game hitting streak, the longest in Angels history by a rookie.

    2005 was Quinlan's last season splitting time between the Angels and the minors, playing with the Angels for 54 games, including his first post season appearance. Quinlan joined the Angels in the American League Championship series, where they lost to the eventual World Series Champion Chicago White Sox.

    Quinlan re-signed with the Angels prior to the 2007 season, to a reported $1.8 million, two year deal.
