Rob Van Dam

Categories: Entertainment
  • Rob Van Dam is a semi-retired professional wrestler known for his aerial moves in both WWE and ECW.

He debuted in ECW in 1996, and feuded with Rhino, Sabu and Balls Mahoney during his 23-month reign as the ECW World Television Champion.

His success continued when he signed with the WWE in 2001, winning the Intercontinental Championship three times from William Regal, Eddie Guerrero and later Chris Benoit. During his second and third reigns, RVD unified the European and Hardcore titles with the Intercontinental, with both titles being abandoned after his victories.

In 2006, RVD defeated John Cena to become the WWE Champion. During that time, he was also awarded the re-instated ECW World Heavyweight Championship, making him the first person to hold the top titles of both companies simultaneously.

RVD left the WWE in 2007 for undisclosed reasons. He continues to make infrequent appearances on WWE programming.
