Road House is a 1989 action/drama film about a bouncer, Dalton (Patrick Swayze), who has an NYU philosophy degree and a widespread reputation for being one of the best "coolers" in the business. When he is hired to clean up the seedy Jasper, Missouri bar the Double Deuce, Dalton finds himself in the middle of a battle with Brad Wesley (played by Ben Gazzara), a rich and corrupt local who has a stranglehold of fear on the small town. Tensions escalate as Dalton starts dating doctor Elizabeth Clay and gets backup from Wade Garrett (Sam Elliott), the bouncer who taught him everything he knows.
The house band in the Double Deuce is led by Jeff Healey, who is known for his unique style of guitar playing (he is blind and he plays with the guitar laying down in his lap) and the hit 1988 song "Angel Eyes."
