  • RJD2 is the stage name of an American hip-hop producer and singer named Ramble John Krohn. He is currently based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is known for a musical style that fuses hip-hop, funk, and soul. RJD2 began his career as a hip-hop DJ, and quickly became famous as a producer after releasing two mostly instrumental hip-hop albums. Although in subsequent releases he shifted his focus somewhat, singing and playing instruments on most of the tracks, he has continued to help produce tracks for independent rap artists. combining the sounds of jazz, funk and soul. In 2006, he hooked up with XL Records, where he intended to stray from his hip-hop origins in favor of a more mainstream sound.
