Story from Greek Myth
Rise of the Argonauts takes its story loosely from the mythological story of Jason and the Argonauts and their quest for the Golden Fleece. According to the myth, Jason went in search of the Golden Fleece to prove that he was rightful king of his kingdom. He gathered a number of warriors with him and they set sail on the Argo, bound for the island of Colchis. Just like in many Greek tales like The Odyssey and The Iliad, Jason and his men make stops along the way where they encounter obstacles of all sorts.Upon reaching Colchis, Jason is asked by the king to perform three tasks before he can claim the Golden Fleece. The king's daughter falls in love with him and aids him in the completion of the tasks. They eventually return to Jason's home together with the fleece.Wikipedia: Jason
