Rip Torn

Rip Torn is an Oscar-winning American actor who has made over 100 films but may be best known for his role as Artie on The Larry Sanders Show.

Torn was given probation on May 20, 2009, and ordered to attend alcohol education classes for his December 2008 DUI charge. He was arrested on December 14, 2008, after he was spotted driving in the break-down lane on route 44. Dennis Hopper allegedly once pulled a knife on Rip Torn while they were having dinner in 1967. When Hopper discussed the incident on The Tonight Show, he claimed it was Rip Torn who wielded the knife.
