Rio Super Bowl Ad

Digitally animated comedy "Rio" opens throughout the US on April 15, 2011. In this preview set to air during Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011, we see quick glimpses from a domesticated parrot's wild adventures in Brazil.

An ad for the digitally-animated comedy film "Rio" aired during Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011. The ad included a brief montage of scenes from the film, about a parrot from Minnesota who follows his beloved on a wild journey to South America. The film features the voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx and George Lopez.

"Rio" was produced by Blue Sky Studios, the company behind the popular "Ice Age" series and "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!"

The film was one of two computer animated movies advertised during the 2011 Super Bowl. Viewers also saw a trailer for the Wild West adventure film "Rango," from Paramount Pictures.

Attentive viewers will find an embedded code hidden in one of the frames of the "Rio" ad. This code, when entered into an iPhone or iPad, will bring up a secret level in the game "Angry Birds." From this level, viewers can enter a sweepstakes to attend the "Rio" premiere in Rio de Janeiro. The premiere and the special "Rio" edition of "Angry Birds" will launch on March 22, 2011.
