Before choosing a ring try it on. The color of the metal and the gemstones, as well as the size and shape of the ring, may or may not complement the hand shape and skin tone. Warmer skin tones look better with gold rings or golden colored metals, while cooler skin tones look better in silver, platinum, pearl or other cooler colors. Rings with sharp points can catch and damage fine fabrics.
Ask about the material used in the ring, quality of the material and whether it is plated or solid.
