She performed her popular Eminem collaboration, "Love the Way You Lie." After departing the stage, Eminem and Dre remained and performed their collaboration, "I Need a Doctor." The performance involved fire and pyrotechnic effects on stage.

Rihanna again took the stage later in the evening to perform the song "What's My Name" with rapper Drake. For this performance, she was dressed in a small red dress, and also performed in front of flames.

Earlier in the evening, she had won Best Dance Recording for her song "Only Girl (in the World)."
