• College Career

  Williams played for the Texas Longhorns in the NCAA. He set several league and team records and was honored with many awards including the Doak Walker, Walter Camp and Maxwell awards as well as the Heisman Trophy in 1998.Official Site of the Miami Dolphins: Ricky Williams

• Professional Career

  Following school, Williams was selected fifth overall in the 1999 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints. He joined the team for his professional debut that year and played three seasons with the Saints. In 2002, Williams was traded to the Miami Dolphins and was selected to play in the Pro Bowl that year.   In 2005, Williams returned to the league and served a four-game suspension stemming from the substance policy violation. He later failed another drug test, reportedly testing positive for marijuana and was suspended for the entire 2006 season.
