• Ricky Steamboat, also known as Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, was a professional wrestler and one of the most well known and popular wrestlers being billed in the late 1980s and early 90s.

    Ricky Blood made his debuted in 1976 in the American Wrestling Association, going be the name Sam Steamboat, Jr. and wrestled for a while under his own name "Richard Blood" but decided to settle on Ricky Steamboat or Rick Steamboat.

    Steamboat's fame came after he pinned Ric Flair after a double thrust off the top rope to win the Mid-Atlantic TV title in Raleigh, North Carolina. Rick Flair and Steamboat would face off in many other sellout audiences in 1978, 1984, and 1989.

    In 1994, Steamboat severely injured his back but still managed pin Stone Cold Steve Austin to win the United States title at Clash of the Champions, but had to give up the belt due to injuries at Fall Brawl.

    While still recovering from injuries, WCW President Eric Bischoff fired Steamboat via Federal Express package, ending a nearly two decade relationship with the Crockett/Turner wrestling organization. He officially retired for good in September 1994.

    In 2005, Steamboat returned to Wrestling as a road agent and was introduced as a Legend at the WWE Homecoming in 2005.
