Ricky Skaggs

Ricky Skaggs is an American country, bluegrass and gospel artist. He first appeared on the country scene at age six playing the mandolin with Bill Monroe. At seven, he played with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs.

As an adult, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee and signed with Epic Records who released his first solo album Waitin' For The Sun. The album released two number one Billboard singles, "Cryin' My Heart Out Over You" and "I Don't Care." He released 31 more albums and 35 hit singles.

Skaggs has won 11 Grammy Awards, six Country Music Association Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards, 10 International Bluegrass Association Awards.
