Ricky Hatton is an English professional boxer. He is the former Ring Magazine 140-pound junior welterweight champion.

Manny Pacquiao defeated Hatton with a second round knockout on May 2, 2009. Pacquiao knocked down Hatton twice in the first round, then knocked out Hatton at the 2:59 mark of the second round. Hatton laid motionless for several minutes after being knocked out before leaving the ring under his own strengthe. On January 23, 2009, news agencies reported that Manny Pacquiao had reached an agreement with Ricky Hatton for a fight on May 2, 2009. The fight was briefly called off when Pacquiao wanted a bigger share of the purse. Pacquiao and Hatton have agreed to a 52/48 split. On December 19, 2008, news agencies reported that negotiations for a mega bout between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao were drawing to a close, with both sides eager to finalize a deal. On January 21, 2009, Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Boxing and promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank boxing announced that a fight between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao was called off. Manny Pacquiao reportedly insisted on 60 percent of the purse.
