Rick Martel is a retired Canadian professional wrestler who performed in the WWE and WCW.
WWE Career
Rick Martel debuted as part of the Can-Am Connection with partner Tom Zenk in 1987. Despite their initial success, Zenk abruptly left the company after WrestleMania III.
Martel was then partnered with Tito Santana (as the Strike Force) and defeated the Hart Foundation for the tag team titles. At WrestleMania V, Martel shocked fans by turning on Santana.
As a "heel" (bad guy), Martel adopted a gimmick as "The Model," and feuded with Jake Roberts and Tatanka in the early 1990s. As his career slowed down, Martel spent less time wrestling more devoted to his budding real estate career.
Although he wrestled briefly in WCW in 1997, injuries forced him to retire in 1998.
