On August 19, 2008, reports surfaced that self-described "Sasquatch detective" Steve Kulls had proved the Bigfoot body to be a fake. Kulls said after examining the purported corpse, he determined it was a Halloween costume. Press Conference
Rick Dyer and Matthew Whitton, along with Bigfoot hunter Tom Biscardi, held a press conference in Palo Alto, California, on Friday, August 15, 2008, where they revealed more photos of the Bigfoot found in Georgia. Although Whitton and Dyer had previously stated they would provide DNA evidence of their Bigfoot, no such evidence was brought forth. Matthew Whitton recounted the story of how he and Dyer found the Bigfoot body and claimed that more Bigfoots "paralleled" them as they loaded the corpse onto Whitton's truck. Bigfoot tracker Tom Biscardi hired independent investigator Steve Kulls, known as the "Squatch detective," to examine the alleged frozen Bigfoot corpse. Kulls says all signs pointed to a hoax as they thawed the "body."
