  • Richie Sexson is a First Baseman for the Seattle Mariners. Sexson is a two-time All-Star in 2002, and 2003. He is widely regarded as a dangerous power hitter, but inconsistent hitter for average with a propensity to strike out often. At a height of 6'8" he supplies great range at first base.

    Richie Lockwood Sexson was born in Portland, Oregon on December 29, 1974. Sexson would attend Prairie High School in Washington, where he was an all-around athlete playing Basketball, Football and Baseball.
  • Pro Career

    Sexson would be selected with the 671st pick in the 1993 Major League Baseball draft by the Cleveland Indians. Sexson would make his Major League Debut on December 29, 1974. With the Indians Sexson would develop into a feared power hitter with 31 home runs in 1999. He would play for the Indians for three seasons before being traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in 2000 for Bob Wickman, Steve Woodard and Jason Bere. He would continue to put up impressive power numbers and would be named to the 2002 and 2003 All-Star teams for the National League. In 2003 Sexsom would be traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks with Shane Nance for Craig Counsell, Lyle Overbay, Junior Spivey, and Chad Moeller. He would suffer an injury filled season in 2004, and then he would sign a $50 Million dollar contract for four seasons with the Seattle Mariners. In his time in Seattle, Sexson would continue to produce solid power numbers but has been unable to hit over .264 during his time with the Mariners. He would hit a mere .205 in 2007.
