Professional hockey winger Richard Zednik most recently played for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League.

NHL Career
Zednik was drafted 249th overall in the 1994 NHL draft by the Washington Capitals. He played for the Capitals' Western Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Winter Hawks, for nearly two seasons before making his NHL debut with the Capitals in 1996. After six years with the Capitals, Zednik was traded to the Montreal Canadiens on March 13, 2001. He returned to the Capitals in 2006, playing 32 games before he was traded to the New York Islanders on February 26, 2007. Zednik completed the season in New York and signed as a free agent with the Florida Panthers on July 1, 2007.Neck Laceration
During a February 10, 2008, game, Zednik's neck was lacerated by teammate Olli Jokinen's skate. Zednik underwent surgery and made a full recovery, though he did miss the rest of the 2007-08 season.-
