Richard Linklater is an American director and screenwriter from Texas who broke out with his low-budget 1991 film Slacker. After a number of highly acclaimed independent movies, including Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise and Waking Life, Linklater transitioned into larger budget studio pictures, such as School of Rock and a remake of the Bad News Bears. His latest pictures is a film adaptation of the 2001 book Fast Food Nation.
