On April 26, 2008, Nashville songwriter Richard Fagan was arrested and charged with the murder of Gaetano Tom Oteri, father of former Saturday Night Live star Cheri Oteri.
Fagan's Arrest
Fagan admitted to drinking six shots of alcohol when he was arrested for DUI at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008. He allegedly slit Oteri's wrist while intoxicated. Fagan was posting bail for the DUI arrest when he was arrested for the murder of Oteri.
The Victim
Gaetano Thomas Oteri was the father of actress and Saturday Night Live comedian Cheri Oteri. Tom Oteri played a part in the musical success of Fagan by becoming his partner and manager.
