    Philadelphia police officer Richard Decoatsworth graduated from the police academy in March 2007. Six months later, on September 24, 2007, the 21-year-old Decoatsworth was shot while pursuing a group of suspects after a traffic stop. 20-year-old Antonio Coulter was later arrested and charged with attempted murder. Prosecutors said Coulter shot Decoatsworth in the face with a sawed-off shotgun. Coulter was convicted and sentenced to up to 72 years in prison.
