  • Early Life

    Richard Santo Aurilia was born in Brooklyn, New York State on September 2, 1971. He would attend high school at Xaverian High School in New York State. He would later move on to attend St. John's University, where he would establish himself as an excellent college prospect.
  • Pro Career

    Aurilia would be selected in the 24th round of the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft by the Texas Rangers. He would play with the franchise for two years before being traded to the San Francisco Giants. He would make his Major League Baseball debut with the Giants on September 6, 1995. In 2001 he would enjoy his best year, he would be selected to the National League All-Star team and he would win the Silver Slugger award. In 2004, he would sign with the Seattle Mariners then in July of that year he would be traded to the San Diego Padres. Rowand would have a brief stay with the Cincinnati Reds in 2005, then in December 2006 he would sign with the San Francisco Giants, where he would play for the team for a second time.
