The March 4 Rhode Island Primary determines the allocation of 21 pledged delegates for the Democratic winner and 20 delegates for the Republican. An additional 11 superdelegates from Rhode Island will vote in the 2008 Democratic Convention. Rhode Island was an open primary, so voters did not have to select a party affiliation and can vote for any candidate they prefer.
