In Resistance 2, the Mother Spinner is a gargantuan Chimera monster that looks like a hybrid of a scorpion and a spider. It attacks with its two large mandibles and its giant tail, spews venom and releases hordes of Leapers that can drain health.
Battle Strategies

You'll encounter the Mother Spinner at the top of the North Tower, where it has made its nest and is holding Capelli, whom it has captured. Look up at the girders when you reach the top of the tower, and the Spinner will reveal itself.
Though Mother Spinner has no weak spots, continual fire on it using regular weapons is enough to take it down. The trick to defeating it is being able to avoid its various attacks while keeping up your offense. After taking a few hits, it will move under the platform but will soon return in a new position. Keep firing on it while avoiding its pincers and venom. Avoid or take out the Leapers the Mother Spinner spawns, as they can sap your health enough that the Spinner can take you out in a single hit.
Keep firing on it consistently (there is Carbine ammo all around the edge of the platform) and before long the Mother Spinner will fall off the tower to its death.Resistance Fall of a Wiki: Mother Spinner
