• Resistance 2, the sequel to 2006's Fall of Man, is a science fiction first-person shooter developed for the PS3. Its first teaser trailer debuted on April 11, 2008, with a follow up on June 13, 2008. The first trailer indicates that the game will feature 60-player online, 8-player co-op and two separate campaigns.

  • Patch Released - Jan 26 2009

    A patch for Resistance 2 was released on January 26, 2009. The patch fixes a numer of issues in relation to the multiplayer modes of the game, provides added functionality for clans, and improves the overall balancing of the game in multiplayer.

    The game features two entirely separate campaigns:

    1. Single player campaign: follows Nathan Hale
    2. Co-operative campaign
      • Parallels the story of Nathan Hale
      • Supports up to eight players online or 2 player split screen

    1. Classes include medic, heavy weapons class and special ops
    2. Boss battles
    3. Online multiplayer supports up to 60 players
    4. 12 new Chimeran enemies
    5. New weapons, including "The Marksman" (long range semi-automatic rifle) and a minigun

    The first reviews for Resistance 2 are very positive, lauding the game for it's epic story and creative multiplayer aspects. Some reviewers have even called it one of the best games for the PS3. IGN said the single player story was "worth the price of admission by itself," and the Official PlayStation Magazine in the UK said the game was "trying extraordinary new things [with online]" Overall the game has garnering scores in the 80-90 percent range.Metacritic.com: Resistance 2 Reviews
