About the Game
Resident Evil 5 takes place some time after Resident Evil 4. Chris Redfield, the main protagonist, and his sidekick Sheva Alomar fight off hordes of enemies inflicted with the Las Plagas plague. Rather than behaving like mindless zombies, enemies in the game react with human-like reactions and intelligence.
A demo of the game was released in Japan on December 5, 2008. The U.S. version will be released on Xbox Live on January 26, 2009, and for the PS3 on February 5.Joystiq: Resident Evil 5 Demo Infects Xbox 360 Week of Jan 26 (January 14, 2009)
Gameplay
The game retains Resident Evil 4's over-the-shoulder cam and present a variety of new additions as well. Jun Takeuchi, one of the producers, spoke at length about the effects of light on the environment, which was previously hinted at in the E3 teaser. For example, if Chris crosses from an area that is completely dark to one that is bright, or vice versa, his eyes will take time to adapt to the sudden lighting change.GameDaily: Resident Evil 5 Interview: Jun Takeuchi (June 8, 2008)
