    The developers have said that Resident Evil 5 features gameplay similar to the last installment in the series, Resident Evil 4. The game takes place 10 years after the original Resident Evil and stars Chris Redfield, who was also one of the main characters in the first game. RE5 will explore the events of Chris' life during the 10 years between the two games.

    Resident Evil 5 is set in Africa and includes new lighting effects that take full advantage of the capabilities of next generation consoles. In addition, the enemies in this installment possess much more human-like intelligence and will be quicker on their feet. The developers have also stated that there are many more weapon variations in the game.
