Following a probe into the University of Southern California athletics that began in 2009, the NCAA revealed that Bush accepted improper benefits while he was a member of the Trojans including hotel stays, rent payments, luxury transportation and clothing. On September 7, 2010, reports circulated that Bush would be stripped of his 2005 Heisman Trophy. Following college, Bush was drafted second overall in the 2006 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints. He played in 16 games with the Saints during his rookie season, totaling 565 yards and six touchdowns. On February 7, 2010, Bush and the New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl XLIV by a score of 31-17. Bush rushed for 25 yards on five carries and caught four balls for 38 yards in the Super Bowl.
