Set during World War I, the 1981 movie Reds stars Warren Beatty as journalist John Reed -- a man who tries to bring home to the United States communist ideals he picked up in Russia. Beatty also wrote and directed the film.
Plot Synopsis
Journalist John Reed travels to Russia during the era of the October Revolution, where he meets Louise Bryant, and adopts the Communist ideals being instilled there. Louise and John fall for each other and she joins him in his new-found ideals. John returns to the United States with Louise where they begin trying to spread Communist principles.
This movie is semi-biographical and also presented interviews with people who survived the tumultuous October Revolution.
