    On April 5, 2009, O'Neal was arrested for possession and for bringing narcotics into a secured jail facility when he dropped off a friend at a jail facility in Castaic, California. A security guard began a routine search of his car and O'Neal admitted he was carrying a narcotic.     Redmond O'Neal is far from the first person in his family to have a run in with the law over illegal drugs. His father, actor Ryan O'Neal, was arrested along with his son in the September 2008 drug bust, that continues to keep the young O'Neal in hot water. His mother, actress Farrah Fawcett, made news in 1997 after a not-so-coherent interview on The Late Show with David Letterman show, led many to speculate she had been under the influence of drugs.
